Silence and Shower

There are some sleepless nights in all our lives. The quietness of the night doesn't let you sleep. You keep turning in you bed till you get tired. With the following poem I have written about one such night, sleepless and peaceful.

Its dead quiet outside,
Only the whispers of the chilling wind,
The streets filled with light yet so empty,
Eyes wet, reliving all the regrets.

I take the last drag of my burnt friend,
As I walk away from the view,
Back to my bed,
Alone and cold, full of desires.

I take a detour and visit the bathroom instead,
A cold shower and I am all dressed,
The drops run on my body,
And on all the scars of my soul,
Lessening the pain.

The bed calls me but its still cold,
This night is so peaceful but still long,
My desires are dead but still breathing,
Eyes are closed full of pain,
I wrap myself in the warmth of yesterdays,
And sleep.
